Do you travel outside Hertfordshire?

Yes – while Hertfordshire is my home base, I regularly perform for weddings in Essex, Cambridgeshire, and London. I also travel across the UK for select events, with travel expenses and accommodation added where applicable.

How far in advance should we book you?

Popular wedding dates can book up to 12–18 months in advance, so it’s best to secure your date as early as possible. However, I occasionally have short-notice availability – feel free to check anytime.

Can we choose our own music?

Absolutely! Every playlist is personalised to match your taste and the energy you want for your night. You can share must-plays, genres, and do-not-plays, and I’ll handle the flow, mixing, and crowd-reading on the night.

Do you offer lighting and setup options?

Yes – I provide a range of lighting and setup options to suit your venue and style, including wireless uplighting, elegant booth designs, and complete sound systems for ceremony, dinner, and evening reception.

Hi, I’m Andy, and I’m the person behind Herts Events.

I’ve been a full-time wedding DJ for over 20 years, performing at more than 1,500 weddings across Hertfordshire and throughout the UK. Over the years I’ve learnt that the best wedding evenings aren’t about sticking to a playlist. They’re about understanding the couple, reading the room and knowing how to bring everyone together through music.

When you book me, you’ll deal directly with me from our first conversation until the final song of the night. No agencies, no different DJs, just one person who genuinely cares about making your wedding everything you hoped it would be.

My Story

I started DJing as a teenager, long before I imagined it would become my career.

What began as a hobby soon turned into regular bookings, and before long I found myself performing at weddings almost every weekend. It didn’t take long to realise weddings were completely different from any other event. Every couple is different, every family celebrates differently and no two dancefloors are ever the same.
That’s one of the reasons I still love what I do today.

I enjoy getting to know each couple, hearing about their plans and seeing everything come together on the night. There’s something special about watching grandparents, parents and friends all sharing the same dancefloor, and knowing the music has helped make those moments happen.

More than 20 years later, I still look forward to every wedding just as much as I did when I first started.

My Approach – Your Day, Your Way

Every wedding is different, which is why I never work from a fixed playlist or routine.

Before your wedding we’ll chat about the music you love, the songs you’d rather avoid and how you want the evening to feel. Some couples have a detailed playlist ready to go, while others are happy to leave most of it in my hands. Either way is absolutely fine.

On the day I’ll work closely with your venue and other suppliers, make announcements when needed and keep everything moving naturally, so you can spend less time wondering what’s happening next and more time enjoying your wedding.

You’re welcome to send must-play songs, favourite artists and do-not-play requests before the wedding, and guests can make requests on the night too. I’ll always judge what’s right for the moment and keep the evening moving naturally.
